In the InnovationLabs final, the Exigo team of the Robotics Laboratory of the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics of the University of Bucharest won the Grand Prize, Start-up of the Year.
The startup aims to bring about a change in the field of physical recovery by developing a portable smart orthosis that patients can use at home and control via the mobile app.
The members of the winning team, Ana-Maria Melinte (second year in the Artificial Intelligence master’s program), Irina Șargu (graduate of the same master’s program) and Ioana Ciripan (fourth year in the Computer and Information Technology specialization) also qualified in the START Fellowship program from Switzerland, together with colleagues from Themis, another team that achieved remarkable results.
The three young women are active in UniBuc Robotics, the Robotics and 3D Printing laboratories of the University of Bucharest.
We met the three members of the Exigo team online to find out how they decided to make a contribution to medical recovery, how important teamwork and mentorship is on the road to success, and of course, where the name of the team came from.
The University of Bucharest also wrote about the success of the Exigo team here, at the time of the InnovationLabs competition.
