The Research Institute of the University of Bucharest (ICUB) is pleased to announce that Professor Enrico Greco, a visiting professor at ICUB in the 2025-2026 academic year, has been awarded the “Lorenzo Cagnoni” Innovation International Award 2025. This prestigious recognition, promoted by the Italian National Association of Young Innovators (ANGI), honours individuals and companies making outstanding contributions to scientific and technological progress.
The 2025 award, dedicated to the most innovative projects, was presented during an event organized by the Italian Exhibition Group at the Rimini Trade Fair in mid-February 2025.
Professor Greco was honoured “for his significant contributions to advancing research in the extraction of organic compounds from natural matrices through an innovative and environmentally sustainable approach”. His work represents a significant step forward in green chemistry, emphasizing sustainable methodologies with broad applications in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, forensics, archaeometry, and the food industry.
His recognition is linked to his start-up, which specializes in high-efficiency molecular extractions to create nutraceutical products, including an innovative gin developed through sustainable extraction techniques.
