The University of Bucharest continues to be the top-ranked Romanian university in terms of graduate employability (Employment Outcomes) and employer reputation, according to the latest edition of the QS World University Rankings Europe 2026, one of the most respected global academic rankings. For the Employment Outcomes indicator, the University of Bucharest is placed among the top 76 universities in Europe, out of 958 institutions included this year, while for the Employer Reputation indicator it ranks among the top 136 European universities.
The University of Bucharest also reaffirms its leadership in Romanian higher education according to the most recent edition of the overall QS World University Rankings 2026, published in July 2025. Globally, the University of Bucharest is ranked in the 761–770 range, marking a significant improvement compared to the previous edition (801–850) and achieving some of its strongest results in the past decade. The University’s performance is particularly notable in Graduate Employability and Employer Reputation, where it claims the top national position in both categories, demonstrating the institution’s ability to prepare competitive graduates ready for the global job market. Internationally, the University of Bucharest ranks 226th for Employment Outcomes and 400th for Employer Reputation, further strengthening its image as a university offering relevant, future-focused education and placing it among the leading higher education institutions in Central and Eastern Europe.
The QS World University Rankings Europe is in its third edition and provides a comparative listing of the most significant European universities, based on 12 performance indicators, including Research and Discovery, Employability and Outcomes, Learning Experience, Global Engagement, and Sustainability. In the second edition of the Times Higher Education – Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2026, the University of Bucharest is recognized as Romania’s top university for interdisciplinary scientific research, fostering a dynamic environment that combines diverse fields of study with high standards in sustainability and societal impact.
According to the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025, the University of Bucharest is also the first Romanian university – and among the top 100 globally – for its engagement in sustainable development activities. The University’s highest score is in Goal 5 – Gender Equality, where it ranks 3rd in the world.
Finally, in the most recent Study Abroad Aide’s World University Rankings 2025, the University of Bucharest is ranked the best university in Romania for international students, underscoring its long-standing international character.
