Bucharest, June 28, 2023. The University of Bucharest (UB) is the first university in Romania in terms of graduate employability results (Employment Outcomes) and reputation among employers (Employer Reputation), according to the Quacuarelly Symonds (QS) World University Rankings 2024, one of the most famous rankings in the international academic milieu.The University of Bucharest remains among the most important universities in the world this year.
Thus, for the indicator employability of graduates (Employment Outcomes), the University of Bucharest is positioned in the top 250 universities in the world out of 2,963 institutions that were included in this year’s ranking, while for the indicator reputation among employers (Employer Reputation), the University of Bucharest ranks 586 worldwide.Moreover, UB maintains its performance achieved in past years, the world ranking of universities according to the employability of graduates QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2022 confirming both the good insertion of UB graduates on the labor market and the close collaboration of the institution with the business market. Thus, according to the QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2022, the University of Bucharest ranks first nationally for the “Alumni Outcomes” indicator. The same indicator places UB in 191st place worldwide.
The QS World University Rankings 2024 general ranking reached its 20th edition and placed the University of Bucharest in the range of 851 – 900. In addition to the University of Bucharest, the ranking includes 12 other universities in Romania. Of these, five are members of the Universitaria Consortium: “Babeș-Bolyai” University (801 – 850), “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University (1201 – 1400), West University of Timișoara (1201 – 1400), University of Craiova (1401+) and “Lucian Blaga” University (1401+).The QS World University Rankings provides each year a ranking of the world’s most important higher education institutions based on nine performance indicators: academic reputation, reputation among employers, share of students per faculty, number of citations per faculty, share of international faculties, share of international students, membership in international research networks, student employability outcomes and sustainability.
