The students enrolled in the universities members of CIVIS are invited to start the new academic year with a life-changing experience. Almost 50 Blended Intensive Programs (BIPs) are open for registration this fall, and the deadline for submitting applications is October 31st 2024.
Going past the limits of traditional courses, BIPs represent a form of mobility within the Erasmus+ program. A BIP can attract students from various disciplines and from many countries, even outside European borders.
BIPs cover the 5 main themes of the Alliance, and are now available for registration on their dedicated page:
Climate, environment and energy
Society, culture, patrimony
Health
Cities, territories and mobilities
Digital and technological transformation
While attending a BIP, students first take part in an online study session, which is then followed by a 5-day physical mobility to another university member of CIVIS, to allow participants to work with professors and students from across the Alliance and beyond.
Main requirements
Each course has a series of requirements. For most courses, the communication language is English (for some it is French), so a minimal level of language knowledge is mandatory. At the same time, for many of the programs, the selection process is based on students’ CV and cover letter, so it is strongly recommended to grant special attention when submitting these documents.
Taking up a BIP offers students 3 to 6 ECTS credits, according to the workload. In addition, each participation to a CIVIS BIP will be added to the student’s CIVIS passport – an innovative instrument registering all CIVIS activities and recognizes learning experiences at European level.
The advantages of BIPs
Visiting another country to study with students across the whole of Europe, without financial costs, is one of the greatest advantages of the BIPs. This type of program offers a fruitful experience, mixing knowledge, involvement and inspiring meetings.
BIPs have already been implemented for more than two years, helping hundreds of students discover that their dream of studying abroad can become a reality in a new, convenient and innovative way.
CIVIS students at any level and field of study can now apply directly for one of these programs by means of the CIVIS portal. More information is available here.
