The University of Lausanne (UNIL) is launching a call for facilitating the networking of UNIL faculty members with CIVIS colleagues and the setting up of joint collaborative projects.
Eligibility criteria include the following:
- The main applicant should be an academic from the University of Lausanne (UNIL);
- Proposals should involve academics from at least 3 CIVIS member universities;
- Proposals should be related to one of the 5 Hubs of the CIVIS Alliance:
- Health
- Cities, Territories and Mobility
- Climate, Environment, Energy
- Digital and Technological Transformation
- Societies, Culture and Heritage
Projects must be submitted in English or French via our online form by Tuesday 30 May 2023.
The following activities are eligible for funding:
- Academic meetings/workshops/thematic seminars
These are meetings between teachers to discuss a specific theme, with the aim of initiating or reinforcing academic collaborations, pedagogical projects with an innovative approach, joint applications for funding, etc.
- Preparatory meetings for Summer/Winter Schools
The Summer and Winter Schools bring together students from all over the world for intensive courses with a multidisciplinary focus. Activities are open to students at Bachelor, Master and PhD levels.

- Preparatory meetings for Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs)
The design criteria for BIPs include the following: at least 15 incoming international participants (students) who travel to the host country for training; the physical component is 5 days long; the virtual component is mandatory and can be organized before and/or after the physical mobility; after evaluation, students are awarded between 3 and 6 ECTS credits.
The activities are open to students at Bachelor, Master and PhD levels. Interested persons can consult the existing BIPs programmes; courses (call for projects).
This call for proposals will finance up to a maximum of CHF 8,000 per project:
- Travel and accommodation expenses for teachers from other CIVIS universities if the activities are organized on UNIL campus (max. 5 days)
- Travel and accommodation expenses for UNIL teachers if the activities are organized on the campus of another CIVIS university (max. 5 days);
On the UNIL side, projects can be submitted by professors and MER. You will find all the relevant information in the call text, also available on CIVIS website.
