Host institutions
The Congress will be co-organised with the Romanian National Council for Ethics of Scientific Research, Technological Development and Innovation (CNECSDTI) and the University of Bucharest.
CNECSDTI is a national consultative body of the Romanian National Research Authority under the Ministry of Education and Research. CNECSDTI has been active for more than 20 years, coordinating and monitoring the application of the norms of moral and professional conduct in research, development and innovation activities, analysing more than 300 cases related to research ethics and integrity and issuing over 50 decisions, developing codes of ethics, and promoting awareness and good practices in research integrity across Romania.
The University of Bucharest (UB) is a prestigious institution with over 160 years of tradition. With 20 faculties, more than 36,000 students, and 3,000 staff members, UB is a member of CIVIS, a European University Alliance bringing together leading universities committed to strengthening collaboration in education, research, and innovation across Europe.
A key strategic objective of UB is to maintain and further develop a culture of ethics and integrity, enabling the effective prevention and combating of corruption and academic fraud, notably through initiatives such as the Centre for Action, Resources, Training for Academic Integrity (CARFIA), the UB Ethics Committee and the Research Centre in Applied Ethics (CCEA). CARFIA plays a central role in raising awareness, providing training, and supporting the promotion of academic integrity within the university. CCEA is Romania’s leading research center dedicated to studying ethical issues across diverse fields, including AI, biomedicine, technology, business, and environmental science.
The ENRIO Congress 2027 will offer a dynamic programme addressing key developments in research integrity. More information on the themes, programme, and registration will be shared in due course.
