7 of the #Superscrieri14 awards, presented last night, May 26, 2025, were won by students in bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral programs, or by graduates of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Studies, University of Bucharest. 7 of the winners are still students at FJSC, and 3 of the awards were given to articles submitted during the 2023/2024 academic year as part of the requirements for earning a bachelor’s degree
Among the winners of the 14th edition of the (Superscrieri Gala, one of the most prestigious events dedicated to narrative journalism and creative writing in Romania, are students from the master’s programs Thematic Journalism, Advertising and Digital Communication, and Communication and Human Resources, from the bachelor’s program Journalism, and from the Doctoral School of Communication Sciences.
Thus, first place in the Reportage category at #Superscrieri14 was awarded to the article “Corp străin: Cum este folosită tehnologia deepfake împotriva femeilor?” (“Foreign Body: How Deepfake Technology Is Used Against Women”), written by Andra Mureșan (Scena9). The article was her bachelor’s thesis, defended last year under the coordination of lecturer Emilia Șercan, PhD, PhD candidate Andrada Fiscutean, and Cristina Radu.
In the Journalistic Debut category at #Superscrieri14, first place was awarded to the article “Călin Georgescu, urmele banilor: un influencer de pe TikTok recunoaște că a fost plătit pentru campanie” (“Călin Georgescu, the Money Trail: A TikTok Influencer Admits He Was Paid for the Campaign”), written by Alexandra Nistor and Ștefania Gheorghe (HotNews). Alexandra Nistor is a first-year student in the Thematic Journalism master’s program, and Ștefania Gheorghe is a third-year bachelor’s student in the Journalism specialization.
Second place went to the reportage “Experiment: Am urmărit călătoria în jurul lumii a mai multor haine lăsate la reciclat în magazinele H&M. Un hanorac a ajuns înapoi după 2.200 km” (“Experiment: I Tracked the Journey Around the World of Clothes Left for Recycling at H&M Stores. A Hoodie Came Back After 2,200 km”), written by George Herlaș (Snoop), a first-year student in the Advertising and Digital Communication master’s program. The article was George’s bachelor’s thesis, defended last year under the supervision of lecturer Emilia Șercan, PhD, PhD candidate Andrada Fiscutean, and Cristina Radu.
Third place was awarded to the article “Afacerea «căști de copiat»” (“The Cheating Headset Business”), written by Raluca Cristea (Școala9), a first-year student in the Thematic Journalism master’s program.
The series “România versus urși” (“Romania vs. Bears”), written by Cristina Radu and Dragoș Dumitru (illustrations, Snoop), was honored with the Premiul Special „Animal welfare în România” (“Special Award for Animal Welfare in Romania”). Cristina Radu is a first-year student in the Thematic Journalism master’s program.
The honorary award for Feature Writing / Longform was given to the article “Fertilizarea in vitro, «un carusel de emoții». Efectele psihologice ale tratamentului FIV” (“In Vitro Fertilization, ‘An Emotional Roller Coaster.’ The Psychological Effects of IVF Treatment”), written by Daniela Vasilache (Mindcraft Stories). The article was Daniela’s bachelor’s thesis, defended last year under the coordination of lecturer Emilia Șercan, PhD, PhD candidate Andrada Fiscutean, and Cristina Radu.
The winner of the “Superscrieri – Naumann Fellowship” on the theme “human rights: civil partnership” is Anelise Sălan (Scena9), a PhD student at the Doctoral School of Communication Sciences.
