The University of Bucharest (UB) is opening over 20,000 spots for candidates in its 2025 summer admission session and is launching a new faculty: the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies. The admission session for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs offered by UB’s 20 faculties will take place between July 1–25, 2025.
For undergraduate studies, the University of Bucharest is offering 11,138 spots, of which nearly 4,700 are tuition-free (state-funded). For those interested in master’s programs, UB is making available 8,780 spots, with approximately 3,250 being tuition-free.
Out of the total number of undergraduate and master’s spots, 227 are allocated to Romania’s priority development fields (82 for undergraduate and 145 for master’s), 132 are reserved for graduates from high schools in rural areas (undergraduate), and 86 spots are allocated to candidates of Roma ethnicity (70 undergraduate, 16 master’s).
UB’s doctoral schools are offering 340 state-funded spots, of which 165 come with a scholarship (2 of these are designated for Romania’s priority development fields, and 3 for Roma candidates). Additionally, there are 175 part-time, non-scholarship spots, and 324 spots available for a tuition fee.

Special admission session and performance scholarships for olympic athletes choosing the University of Bucharest
In 2025, the University of Bucharest will organize a special admission session for athletes who have won medals at European and world competitions in Olympic sports and chess, as well as at the Olympic and Paralympic Games. This session will take place prior to the general admission session. These candidates will apply directly to the university via the email address admitere.olimpici@g.unibuc.ro, following a special calendar available on admitere.unibuc.ro.
Furthermore, UB offers scholarships to high school and university students who have received gold, silver, or bronze medals at international science olympiads and competitions and choose to pursue their studies at one of the university’s 20 faculties. These scholarships are open to medalists at the Olympic Games, World and European Championships, and World University Championships in Olympic sports and chess, including competitions for people with disabilities.
