The University of Bucharest is offering more than 20,000 places across its bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programmes for the 2026 summer admissions session. Applications to programmes offered by the University’s 20 faculties will be accepted between 1 and 24 July 2026.
For bachelor’s programmes, the University is offering 11,044 places, including 4,828 state-funded places. At master’s level, 9,015 places are available, 3,252 of which are state-funded.
Among the total number of bachelor’s and master’s places, 218 have been allocated to Romania’s priority development fields (81 at bachelor’s level and 137 at master’s level). A further 129 bachelor’s places are reserved for graduates of rural high schools, while 85 places are allocated to Roma applicants (70 bachelor’s and 15 master’s places).
The University is also offering 358 state-funded bachelor’s places for initial teacher education, together with 137 places for candidates applying to its Teaching Master’s programmes.
For doctoral studies, the University’s doctoral schools are offering 340 state-funded places, including 165 full-time places with scholarships. Of these, three scholarship places are reserved for Romania’s priority development fields and three for Roma candidates. In addition, the University is offering 175 part-time doctoral places without scholarships and 283 tuition-paying doctoral places.

While the overall admissions period runs from 1 to 24 July, each faculty follows its own admissions schedule, with detailed calendars published on individual faculty websites.
To make the admissions process as accessible as possible, applicants can complete both their application and payment of the application fee online.
Special Admissions Session and Performance Scholarships for Olympic Athletes
In 2026, the University of Bucharest will once again hold a special admissions session for athletes who have won medals at the Olympic and Paralympic Games, as well as at European and World Championships in Olympic sports and chess. This special admissions round takes place before the general admissions session.
Regardless of the faculty they wish to join, eligible candidates must submit their applications centrally by emailing admitere.olimpici@g.unibuc.ro, in accordance with the dedicated admissions calendar published on admitere.unibuc.ro.
Students who have won gold, silver or bronze medals at international academic Olympiads and competitions, as well as those who have achieved outstanding results in international sporting competitions, may also apply, following admission, for the University’s Olympiad and International Competition Medallists Benefits Package.
