The University of Bucharest offers candidates over 6.300 places for the fall admission session of 2024. Out of these, 1.731 places are for Bachelor programs, 4.220 places are for Master’s programs and 440 places are for doctoral studies. The number of places available is still being updated and, according to the data reported by UB faculties, these are subject to changes.
The fall admission session for UB faculties has already started for some of the faculties, and the admission calendar is available both on admitere.unibuc.ro as well as the faculties’ specific websites.
For Bachelor’s studies, the University of Bucharest offers candidates interested to study at one of its 19 faculties a number of 1.731 places (out of which 156 are budgeted), for people interested in Master’s studies, UB offers 4.220 places (455 of them budgeted), while UB doctoral schools offer a total of 440 places.

In order to facilitate admission for candidates, the University of Bucharest offers the possibility to pay the admission fee online, by filling in the registration form available at www.po.unibuc.ro, and also offers the possibility to register for the admission competition online.
UB, the first university in Romania concerning Employment Outcomes and Employer Reputation
The University of Bucharest is the first university in Romania in what concerns Employment Outcomes and Employer Reputation, according to the latest edition of the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings 2025, one of the most renowned rankings in the academic space worldwide.
The University of Bucharest continues to maintain its position in the top of the most important universities in the ranking. Thus, for the indicator which targets Employment Outcomes, the University of Bucharest is positioned in the first 235 universities in the world, out of the 1.503 institutions included in the ranking this year, while for the indicator targeting Employer Reputation, the University of Bucharest ranks #462 at international level.
The university of Bucharest has celebrated this year 160 years since its founding, through Decree no. 765 from July 4th/16th 1864 signed by Ruler Alexandru Ioan Cuza. Successor of the higher education structures inaugurated by the Princely Academy (1694), the University of Bucharest has contributed, and is continuing to contribute decisively to the development and modernizing of Romanian education, science and culture.
The University of Bucharest nowadays comprises 19 faculties, offering 95 bachelor programs, 223 master’s programs, 23 doctoral schools on specific fields and an interdisciplinary doctoral school, fosters over 50 centers and 9 research facilities.
