The members of the UB academic community, invited to present their projects in an interdisciplinary, open and collegial frame
Between November 25th – 29th 2024, the University of Bucharest and the Research Institute of the University of Bucharest organize the third edition of the annual conference dedicated to the communication of research results within the University of Bucharest.
Registrations for the conference are possible by sending the abstracts of the presentation, following this model, by November 10th 2024, at the e-mail address events@icub.unibuc.ro.
The members of the academic community in all fields of science, professors and researchers, center coordinators or groups of research and project directors, are invited to present, in maximum 15 minutes, the main results obtained during the academic year 2023-2024, in a language accessible to the colleagues in other fields from the University of Bucharest. The conference will be structured around 6 main themes:
- Climate, environment and energy
- Society, culture, patrimony
- Health
- Cities, spaces and mobilities
- Digital and technological transformations
- Research for society and participative science
Given UB’s commitment to the values shared by the universities members of CIVIS, the panels of this year’s edition of the conference start from the themes of the 5 CIVIS hubs, meant to answer to the most acute challenges society is facing, as they are defined in the UN Durable Development Goals.
At the same time, a special panel will be dedicated to partipative science and to the reports between research and society, with a focus on the manners by which society can get directly involved in various research enterprises.
Moreover, considering this year’s anniversary context, a subpanel included in the more ample panel titled Society, culture, patrimony, will be dedicated to the 160 years anniversary since the founding of the University of Bucharest and 330 years of continuity of higher education in Bucharest.
By means of this event, the University of Bucharest aims to consolidate the connections within its academic community, as well as to create the premises for developing interdisciplinary collaborations, which will lead to the increase of awareness, at the level of the entire society, on the value of accomplishments in the research area.
The program and places where the conference will take place will be communicated after registrations are completed.
The first editions of the conference dedicated to communicating research results within the University of Bucharest took place in 2023 and represented a real success both by the diversity of the themes and approaches proposed, and by setting up an open, collegial and modern discussion frame, focused on innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration.
