The University of Bucharest is pleased to invite its students to apply for the Master’s Programme in Transdisciplinary Studies of Climate, Environment, and Energy (TRACEE), an innovative initiative developed in collaboration with the CIVIS European University Alliance. TRACEE offers a unique opportunity for students to acquire interdisciplinary knowledge and skills essential for addressing global climate and environmental challenges.
The TRACEE programme spans two years (120 ECTS) and begins with a foundational semester at Stockholm University, focusing on Climate, Energy, and Environment. During the second and third semesters, students will select from nine specialized study tracks offered by various CIVIS partner universities. Two of these tracks, Environmental Humanities and Law and Environmental Social Sciences, are co-hosted by the University of Bucharest.
In the fourth and final semester, students will complete a master’s thesis at one of the participating universities, allowing them to apply their acquired knowledge to real-world environmental and climate challenges.
Students enrolled in TRACEE benefit from an interdisciplinary approach, integrating natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, and law to develop holistic and practical solutions. The programme provides significant international exposure, enabling students to study at different CIVIS universities, experience diverse academic environments, and build valuable international networks. Participants will also gain practical experience through case studies, collaborative research, and a transdisciplinary thesis.
Applications for TRACEE are open until March 31, 2025. Eligible applicants include students holding a bachelor’s degree in any discipline. Interested students should visit the official CIVIS website for detailed application procedures and additional information.
