The University of Bucharest is set to offer close to 8,300 tuition-free spots in the upcoming 2025 summer admission session.
The admission process for bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs will run from July 1 to July 25, 2025. Final results will be published by July 31. Each faculty follows its own schedule within this period, and applicants can find specific dates and details on the websites of the respective faculties.
To make the process easier for applicants, the University offers both online payment of the registration fee, via the form available at www.po.unibuc.ro, and the option to apply online.
For undergraduate studies, the University is offering 4,700 tuition-free spots across its 20 faculties. At the master’s level, 3,250 tuition-free, government-funded places are available.
Of these, 227 spots (82 for bachelor’s and 145 for master’s) are reserved for fields designated as national priorities for Romania’s development. Additionally, 132 places are allocated for students from rural high schools (bachelor’s level), and 86 spots are set aside for Roma candidates (70 for bachelor’s and 16 for master’s programs).
At the doctoral level, the University is offering 340 tuition-free PhD positions. Of these, 165 are full-time with a scholarship (including 2 in priority development fields and 3 for Roma candidates), while 175 are part-time positions without a scholarship.
The University is also offering 360 tuition-free spots for future teachers (bachelor’s level) and 49 spots in the tuition-free teaching master’s programs available at several of its faculties.

Special admission session and scholarships for olympic athletes
In 2025, the University of Bucharest will host a special admission session for athletes who have won medals at European and World Championships in Olympic sports, in chess, or at the Olympic and Paralympic Games. This session will be held before the general admissions round. Eligible athletes can apply by emailing admitere.olimpici@g.unibuc.ro, according to a special admissions calendar available on admitere.unibuc.ro.
The University also awards scholarships to high school and university students who have earned gold, silver, or bronze medals at international academic or athletic competitions and choose to continue their studies at one of UB’s 20 faculties. These scholarships are available to medalists from the Olympic Games, World and European Championships, World University Championships in Olympic sports and chess, as well as competitions for students with disabilities.
