On Wednesday, May 28, 2025, University of Bucharest students were awarded in the national final of the JA Gen-E 2025 entrepreneurship competition.
Gen-E is the largest European JA competition, aiming to develop entrepreneurial, digital, and communication skills essential for future careers, while encouraging young people to turn their business ideas and team projects into reality.
This year, the University of Bucharest was represented by three teams in the national competition, two of which advanced to the final:

The Studently team, coordinated by Associate Professor Camelia Cojocaru, PhD, proposed a free platform designed to help students integrate quickly at the beginning of the academic year.
“This award recognizes the hard work and passion our students invest in every project, as well as our university’s commitment to supporting hands-on entrepreneurial education,” said Associate Professor Camelia Cojocaru, PhD.
A fourth team, Reggio Emilia-Inspired Kindergarten, participated in the JA incubator program, developing an innovative educational concept. The team members are: Andreea Simina Ștefan, Roxana Ilinca Ștefan, Bantaș Anne-Marie Zaharia, Iulian Adrian Țega.
“Participating in the Gen-E competition is a transformative experience for students. It challenges them to think strategically, collaborate effectively, and defend their ideas in front of industry professionals. I’m incredibly proud of our teams’ progress and the way they’ve combined creativity with entrepreneurial rigor. These projects are more than academic exercises—they can become real solutions to societal needs,” added Associate Professor Camelia Cojocaru, PhD, team coordinator.
The Gen-E national final brought together 35 teams of high school and university students, who presented their projects to a jury and impressed with the knowledge gained through the JA Entrepreneurial Education program, as well as skills such as creativity, teamwork, critical thinking, and communication. The winners of the national final, in both the High School and University categories, will represent Romania at the European Gen-E 2025 event, to be held in July in Athens, Greece, where they will compete with young entrepreneur teams from across Europe.
