The University of Bucharest, joined by the Autonomous University in Madrid, Aix-Marseille University, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Sapienza University in Rome launch a new call-for-papers for projects which have an impact in the community for ERASMUS+ project Service-Learning: Intersectoral Collaboration Practices for the development of students´ soft skills and socially engaged universities. This belongs to the series of activities unreeled within the project Key Action 2 KA2 Cooperation Partnership – Higher Education (2022-2024), coordinated by Eurasia Net.
This project promotes the implication of the academic community in social actions and programs, by cooperating with organizations of the civil society, thus sustaining the increment of development opportunities for all participants. At the same time, the project aims to promote good practices as well as to develop and extend the implementation of such institutional initiatives that offer solutions for approaching the challenges and necessities the community is presently facing. Students are encouraged to take part in social and civic experiences by participating in local projects with social impact.
The CFP is open to the academic community of the University of Bucharest: faculties, administrative departments, research centers, students’ associations, mixed student and professors project teams who coordinated and/or are coordinating local social impact projects for one or more beneficiaries during the academic year 2023-2024.
Applications will be submitted by the project coordinator or a representative of the project team from the University of Bucharest (using the institutional e-mail address), by filling in this form, by Saturday, February 20th 2024. The form contains, other than the team’s data, the abstract of the project (in English, using this format), based on which the evalution of eligible projects will be completed.
Tuesday, March 5th 2024, at the Rectorate building in Bucharest (No. 90 Șoseaua Panduri), the teams who submitted projects will attend an event to diseminate and recognize social impact in local communities Successful and Inspiring Service-Learning Projects. The event will be held in English in the form of a competition of social impact projects.
Between June 25th – 28th 2024, the submitted projects will take part in the Bucharest European Forum if they are place on the first two positions. This event will be held in English and will include presentations of local projects with social impact unreeled in communities from France, Greece, Spain and Italy.
The applications submitted will be evaluated by a jury and will be recognized internationally in the universities mentioned above.
Evaluation criteria are the same for both the local and European event and can be consulted here; for the local event, the jury will be able to select only those applications that correspond to the criteria mentioned, and participation criteria can be consulted here.

Erasmus+ (https://erasmus-plus.ec.europa.eu/) is the EU program whose objective is to support educational, personal and professional development of those persons who activate in the field of education, professional counselling, youth and sport. Between 2021-2027, the program strongly focuses on social inclusion, ecological and digital transitions and promoting youths’ participation to democratic life. It also supports the priorities and activities established in the European Space for Education, Action plan for digital education and the European Agenda of competencies. The program also supports the European Pillar of Social Rights, implements the EU strategy for youth 2019-2027 and develops the European dimension in sports.
