———————— TESTIMONIALS ———————
Alisa Rujovic, Montenegro, class of 2018-2019
I am happy to be here now, I am happy to be able to speak Romanian. Every language has its specificities, but not every language is as rich as this one. It reminds me of my mother tongue. It is very difficult to learn Romanian, but I was helped, beside my professors, whose teaching method is very efficient and who were patient and understanding, by my Romanian friends. Learning a language does not mean only to know how to speak it, but also to feel good when you live among locals, to make new friends and to feel sometimes Romanian, despite your own nationality. Go ahead with the Preparatory Year of Romanian language course, value your professors such as Valentina and Irina! Greetings from a happy girl from Montenegro!
Nguyen Thi Thu Hoai, Vietnam, class of 2018-2019
First of all, I would like to thank to the international cooperation department for helping all the international students so much. I feel very fortunate to study and live in Romania, a beautiful and friendly country.
Being a student from Vietnam, Romanian was a completely new language for me and I found it very difficult in the beginning. I could not read the sentences correctly and the Romanian grammar seemed quite complicated. However, the university program in Bucharest made it very clear. For each lesson, teachers offered a certain amount of knowledge, but also a system of exercises in order to practice this knowledge. Teachers are very enthusiastic and responsible. So, I think that with a constant effort from my behalf, I will gradually acquire this new language.
In order to speak Romanian, I think we need to practice communicating with people around us, who can correct us when we make mistakes, helping us to improve our Romanian language skills and to develop natural reflexes when we try to say something.
Mahmoud Bawaqna, Palestine, class of 2018-2019
In my opinion, the Romanian language is not difficult if you learn it conscientiously and with passion. Furthermore, I consider it is very important to connect and talk with Romanian people, since every student has his own way of learning. As a Palestinian student, I knew very little about Romania and about the lifestyle here, but I knew that Romania and Palestine have a strong relationship, and this made me love Romania even more. I wish good luck to all students and I want to thank you all!
Meri Harutyunyan, Armenia, class of 2019-2020
Education is not preparation for life, education is life itself. John Dewey
This year was a challenging, colorful, amazing and memorable experience with brilliant people, teachers and friends. Although these pandemic times have severely limited us all from communicating with others and enjoying the presence of others in our lives, we have overcome the worst part of it together.
I am very grateful especially to my professors, who were very attentive and did not let us feel alone abroad and always encouraged us with their advice throughout the pandemic and of course my university who did everything to organize our online study program at a high level.
On the one hand, the main beneficiaries of such programs are students, who can elevate their scientific knowledge and worldview. Based on these human resources, we become able to improve institutions, countries and of course the world society. On the other hand, the exchange of experiences between students helps institutions to develop curricula and to have flexible education plans.
All the courses you offer in the preparatory year program at UniBuc proved very useful for my studies, because the deep knowledge of the language is the basis on which I can build my professional master’s knowledge.
I also want to say that Romanian is a very beautiful and interesting language, but all foreigners like me must find a suitable approach to learn it and must leave behind their cultural and linguistic thinking and try to think as a Romanian in order to succeed.
I deeply appreciate all the efforts you made.
Thank you not only for your professional help, but also for the atmosphere you created throughout this year of study!
