Irina Stoica is a lecturer of linguistics at the University of Bucharest. Her main research interests are syntax, L1 acquisition and L2 learning. Irina Stoica holds a PhD title in linguistics from the University of Bucharest, obtained in 2019 after defending the thesis “The Syntax and the Semantics of Manner of Speaking Verbs”, written under the supervision of professor Larisa Avram. Her more recent work focuses on island effects in Romanian, both from a theoretical perspective a from that of L1 acquisition and L2 learning.
